ABOUT OUR TEAM
W. G. Tucker’s executive search team is representative of our firm’s focused search capability. Each of our Search Consultants has had successful careers in such fields as Human Resources, Finance and Accounting, Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Communications and Non-Profit Management, and each is qualified to conduct searches in two to three primary areas.
Collectively, our Search Consultants have many years of experience and intimate knowledge of numerous industries. We have built solid contacts with individuals, professional organizations and associations around the country. When we undertake a search assignment, we use this extensive network, along with solid cold-calling techniques and the best research tools available in the marketplace to source qualified candidates for our clients in a timely fashion.
ABOUT OUR PRESIDENT
Weida G. Tucker, our President, is a former Human Resources and Corporate Communications Manager who worked in both the public and private sectors before starting her search business in 1990. A graduate of the University of Florida, she was a key member of the human resources team for Union Carbide at Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. While at Union Carbide, Ms. Tucker was a Human Resources Generalist, working in employment, EEO, and training and development. She led the company's in-house career planning program for managers. Ms. Tucker also worked as a Public Affairs Officer for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at the John F. Kennedy Space Center. Ms. Tucker’s professional associations and community involvement include the following: Society for Human Resources Management, Pittsburgh Human Resources Association, Central Florida Human Resources Association, and North Florida Human Resources Association; member, National Association of African Americans in Human Resources; and member, International Facility Management Association.
Current Board affiliations include: Board member and Diversity Committee Chair, Western Pennsylvania Conservancy; Former Chair, Community Outreach Committee; Board member, Three Rivers Workforce Investment Board; and Board member, Poise Foundation. Former Board affiliations include: Auberle (youth residential home), member, Personnel Committee; African American Chamber of Commerce; Beginning with Books; and The Minority Enterprise Corporation, Penn’s Southwest Association, and Pittsburgh Regional Alliance—all economic development organizations.
